You can't really suppress the desire to eat - of course you want to eat, its natural to - what you are doing takes a matter of will power, it really does. You have to instead recognize your desire to eat and "hunger pains" as experiences you can handle, that do not dictate your behavior because you want to fast and not give into them.
but it is easier to do this if you are not fixating on food and on your desire to eat. INstead of thinking about food, do something nice for yourself, like see a film or take a hot bath or if its within your budget get a massage - read fiction you wouldn't normally have time to read - or do whatever it is that relaxes you.
...if one of the things you find is that your best stress relief and relaxation is *eating* then thats all the more reason you should fast and you should force yourself to develop other healthier coping mechanisms.
Anyways, you have to realize that any discomfort you have now will pass - it wont continue into your fast, you just need to take things as they come.
