Re: Iodine alone not enough to overcome hypothyroid in many people?

I accept this about the need to treat the whole body and the importance of the digestive system. I thought I was doing that for four years in recovering from IC and did get rid of my symptoms, except the hormonal ones - low thyroid symptoms and hot flushes. I've just done my second Liver Flush and that for me may be the missing link. I got out of candida and leaky gut but still things didn't work properly. Traded in and chelated my mercury for a year and a half. Gave my liver herbs for ages. Worked on my spirit and my psyche. Rested, changed my lifestyle. Still hypothyroid, weak absorption and hot flushes. Having seen what came out in the flush, how was I doing as well as I was!? So debilitated for four years by the hot flushes, I've had a week of hardly any - pure bliss. I don't think it was anything to do with estrogen - the flushes were the liver struggling to cope. So I'd add that without a strong liver the digestion won't work however carefully you nurture it. (But that's only my second flush!)
