and into the NH life path
Chris,
I am more and more convinced that a well-conducted
Water Fast would be the thing to turn my mother's health around. esp. as I read ( and am reminded of) all of the following about vit. B12, and its relationship to B6, vitamin E and so on.

Now I think I can see why my mother craves meat--and can imagine she doesn't really assimilate what she's looking for, in the meat.
Now I understand more fully also, why my health gets better and better--
fixing the terrain. That's number one. And in with that, the healing of the entire alimentary tract. This would likely resolve such interconnected issues as low-HCL, and poor assimilation. On the other hand, or perhaps hand-in-glove, what's better for a body with low HCL than fruit? This is the easy way to get vitamins and minerals; pre-digested, in effect.
Number two, the right food, introduced properly.
In my diet -for these past few years- I include kelp, blackstrap molasses, lots of lemon, and nettles--and these things are like my 'super foods'--along with the kombucha, and cultured vegetables: which is a nice way to get high-density, raw and probiotic nutrition where you don't have to eat much, and can enjoy it with some rice---Cultured brocolli is esp. good. In the winter, I feel the need for more grains. Quinoa is good also. In summer I pretty much could live on fruits and vegetables (+ nuts and seeds).
