Mirena and Lupus

I had a Mirena inserted in June 2005. Prior to this, I saw a rheumatologist to rule out Lupus because I was experiencing joint pain. It was ruled out and I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. Prior to insertion, I told my GYN I had a family history of autoimmune diseases but he dismissed this saying the concern with silicone was mainly with breast implant patients and the Mirena would not be an issue. After experiencing prolonged symptoms, I saw a rheumatologist again in May 2009. At that time, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I believe the Mirena may have caused my autoimmune disease. Has anyone else experienced this?
