Sulfur, Selenium and Keratin

EC is an overproduction of keratin in the lips, and sulfur is needed for keratin production. I've read that sulfur supplements, cause skin, hair and nails to grow faster because it increases cellular turnover -- that means that its making your skin renew itself faster. I found out about sulfur from a keratosis pilaris forum, keratosis pilaris is excess keratin of the skin.

sulfur and selenium are antagonists(opposite), so if there is an imbalance and selenium takes over, then the skin breaks open, softens becomes weak, sloughs off.

So i don't know if sulfur will do good or bad, it's contradicting. Because Sulfur stimulates keratin production but without it no defense against toxins.

also i've a read here about keratin production and cancer cells.

"Why is keratin production increased in cancer cells?"

Keratin offers better protection from external stimuli such as strong toxins. Some times the conditions are too harsh for "ordinary" cancer and it needs the extra protection of the keratin. "

I'm going to take an MSM supplement(sulfur)(odorless) and see how it affects my skin.
