Re: hyperactive gallbladder

Thx Mendomaid,

The pain is in the gallbladder area. Decided to go GF after reading that a high ejection fraction on the HIDA scan (mine was 92%)has a strong relationship with celiac. Had antibody screen run by doctor, came back negative. Suspected about five years ago I might be gluten intolerant. Biopsy of small intestine came back okay. Assumed I was not GI, so did not make any adjustments to diet. Have osteopenia, thyroid issues (nodules, low), irritable bowel.

The pain I have is a burning pain, dull and constant. Feels like a water balloon under my ribs. It gets better after eating something. There is a constant gurgling over the gallbladder area. Have done about five Liver Flushes and the pain never improves, only gets worse. The pain is bad during the night and gets better during the day. Over the past month, it is almost unbearable. Twice I have been really close to going to the ER with it.

I am wondering if this is a cleansing or Herxheimer reaction to having stopped the gluten. Also, wondering if it will improve on its own over time. Really don't want to have my gb out, but I don't think I can live forever with this :(
