Re: No its not

107689,
here in the UK the "Consultants word" is Gospel, and where the hospital medical staff and patients are in awe of their status/superiority and knowledge of their specialty. What they advise in terms of treatment-protocols are followed to the letter. They are mostly described as "God-Like".
Patients rarely question the treatment they are advised to undertake, and follow it through, because of the Consultants autocratic and authoritative status which pervades into the general populace.

Just one example would be my future son-in-law, who at the age of 25 developed "Ewings Sarcoma" as a tumor that had grown to 7cm in his elbow, and which had metastasized to his lungs by the time any "treatment" was advised by his Oncologist.
High dose Combination-Chemotherapy was the ONLY option recommended by the Oncologist, which has been adhered to religiously by him with the support of his family, who are similarly brainwashed into thinking that this was the only course of action available. The side-effects have been horrendous.
Thankfully he listened to me, and (with much persuasion and argument) the eventual support of his family, by undertaking high dose Vitamin D3 in conjunction with his Chemo'. This was without the knowledge or approval of his medical team.
The outcome has been nothing short of spectacular: even the medical staff (including the Oncologist) are amazed and dumbfounded at his success in almost totally eradicating his cancer, and in such a short space of time (attributable to the chemo' only of course).

Patients do NOT have "control" of their treatment by Mainstream here, or in the United States either come to that..........there are many cases of Mainstream Medicine within the US taking the legal route against patients who have chosen to "opt-out" of conventional therapy, and which has been widely reported.

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.".......Benjamin Disraeli (Former British Prime Minister).
I am inclined to agree with DQ's posted statistics on survival rates for cancer in terms of the abysmal efficacy of Chemotherapy in dealing with cancer survival, and for some of the following very good reasons..................

"Most cancer patients in this country die of chemotherapy... Chemotherapy does not eliminate breast, colon or lung cancers. This fact has been documented for over a decade. Yet doctors still use chemotherapy for these tumors... Women with Breast Cancer are likely to die faster with chemo than without it." - Alan Levin, M.D.

An investigation by the Department of Radiation Oncology, Northern Sydney Cancer Centre, Australia, into the contribution of chemotherapy to 5-year survival in 22 major adult malignancies, showed startling results: The overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA." [Royal North Shore Hospital Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol) 2005 Jun;17(4):294.]

DQ is therefore correct re' survival rates of cancer sufferers "solely attributable" to cytotoxic chemotherapy as being 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA..................and 60% from ALL treatment protocols.

To clarify...........

Research data from the Cancer Registry in Australia and the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results in the USA for the year 1998. The current 5-year "relative" adult survival rate for cancer in Australia is over 60%, and no less than that in the USA.
BY COMPARISON, a mere 2.3% CONTRIBUTION OF CHEMOTHERAPY to cancer survival does not justify the massive expense involved and the tremendous suffering patients experience because of severe, toxic side effects resulting from this treatment.
With a meager success rate of 2.3%, selling chemotherapy as a medical treatment (instead of a scam), is one of the greatest fraudulent acts ever committed. The average chemotherapy earns the medical establishment a whopping $300,000 to $1,000,000 each year, and has so far earned those who promote this pseudo-medication (poison) over 1 trillion dollars. It's no surprise that the medical establishment tries to keep this scam alive for as long as possible.

This tallies EXACTLY with DQ's original post.

“Many oncologists recommend chemotherapy for almost any type of cancer, with a faith that is unshaken by the almost constant failures”.(Albert Braverman, MD, “Medical Oncology in the 90s”, Lancet, 1991, Vol. 337, p. 901).
