Probably NOT 167x Daily Value.

Don't listen to confused or dyslexic persons who keep on confusing mg and mcg. When in doubt, check some respectable reference material, like a library or something.

Semi-respectable source says:
"In an attempt to prevent these symptoms of Iodine toxicity, the Institute of Medicine established the following Tolerable Upper Intake Levels (TUL) for iodine:

* 1-3 years: 900 mcg
* 4-8 years: 300 mcg
* 9-13 years: 600 mcg
* 14-18 years: 900 mcg
* 19 years and older: 1,100 mcg
* Pregnant women 14-18 years: 900 mcg
* Pregnant women 19 years and older: 1,100 mcg
* Lactating women 14-18 years: 900 mcg
* Lactating women 19 years and older: 1,100 mcg

It is important to note that if you have an autoimmune thyroid disease (for example, Grave's disease or Hashimoto's disease) or if you have experienced an Iodine deficiency at some point in your life, you may be more susceptible to the dangers of excessive Iodine consumption, and may, therefore, need to monitor your intake of iodine more carefully."

HOWEVER, another source says:
"Therapeutic Range:250mcg - 130mg
... risk factors: Iodine [overdose]:
Palpitations / irregular heartbeat, tachycardia,
throat tightness, insomnia, skin rash, sweating,
goiter, exophthalmos ("bug-eyes"), weight loss,
intolerance to heat, hyperthyroid, hypothyroid,
During pregnancy: potential hypothyroidism,
thyroid enlargement, or cretinism in infant"

WARNINGS: "Supplementing normal (RDA / RDI), or even lower amounts of iodine following long-standing iodine deficiency can trigger hyperthyroidism in some instances." (so, if you're iodine deficient, you need to start LOW!!!!!)

other warnings: Potassium Iodide - if you see it, DON'T take it. It's a THYROID BLOCKER, used for emergency radiation exposure protection only. It's unhealthy as hell, but lets you withstand larger short-term dosages of radiation for a day after taking it. (it is not in any way shape or form useful for "detox" purposes and will NOT cleanse your body of radiation damage already received)
