What utter hogwash!
Utter hogwash! The dangers of fluoride, including dangers to the teeth, are well documented, as you know.
See: http://www.fluoridealert.org/
Last time I looked, tap water in general did not get that high of a health rating either.
Amazing to see that the Academy of General Dentistry supports fluoride, given all their fluoride treatments and products they endorse containing flouride.
It might be true that fluoride could assist in the remineralization of teeth, given the way fluoride damages the enamel and makes it more porous. However, such help would not come even close to offsetting the damage it causes. It should be noted that the recommended fluoride varnish typically contains a resin which coats the enamel and prevents remineralization, much in the same way that virtually all commercial toothpastes contain glycerin which coats the enamel and prevents remineralization.
"Instead of drilling holes to fix cavities, dentists would rather educate the public on how to avoid developing tooth decay in the first place,"
Now that has to be a candidate for best joke of the day if ever there was one!
Thanks for your tongue-in-cheek post of that propaganda piece,
