Re: Calling All Anti Candida Support
I've been battling Candida for a long time and been hanging around this Candida group for quite a while too. I have not cured myself, but I like to think I have learned a lot in the process. Here are my thoughts for what they're worth.
I would try the cultured vegetables first off. Start with small amounts and very gradually increase. You will most likely get some strong negative reactions. Hang in there and give it a good trial. At least a month or two to see if you can tolerate them. It is hard to tell the difference between yeast die-off and an allergic response (most likely to the yeast in the CV). The best guide I have found is that die-off tends to improve after a week or two, while an allergic response doesn't. Given your history with kefir, you may have difficulty with CV too, but well worth trying.
I wouldn't go down the path of antifungals like Diflucan or Nystatin immediately. Candida adapts and becomes immune to all antifungals. They have a place, but I feel it is better if you can first improve your bowel ecology and leaky bowel as much as possible, before using antifungals. That's my plan anyway.
BTW, I tried the cultured vegetables for two months but couldn't tolerate them - too much brain fog. I figure this is due to my yeast allergy. I am presently trialling young coconut water kefir made from a culture starter that doesn't contain yeast. I am also looking at ways to culture vegetables with bacteria while inhibiting yeast fermentation.
Good luck buddy. Candida is character building. :)
