I dont believe that this necessarily is the truth; more that very few have found the way out of it; as is with most meds.
Getting off medication in general; IMO, and my experience from the mental hospital, is difficult; but not impossible.
It is a kind of indolence involved; one doesnt face the phase that appear when coming off the meds; for instance if one have been on Prozac; he or she suddenly have to face the real issues out there. Or if on sleep meds; you will have to go through a phase of insomnia. It is a tough phase to go through; and not many docs I know of support this; they tend to continue the meds or just change the prescription.
Back to the fact that we have to do this ourselves.
