I'd imagine lots of physicians have stumbled onto this form but can't correspond online for various reasons. What would be good to see is some form of printed publication by a dentist relating to the use you've just described.

We've all heard about topical application of fluoride ion to teeth to purportedly render enamel more resistant to attack by acids secreted by mutatans bacterium. I'd imagine that topical application of Iodine may have the same or a superior effect in that regard.
