Re: SOMETHING I'm doing is working. FBO is on/off.
I'd love to have a real test done, but as this condition has more or less forced me out of the workplace, I'm broke, haha. I VERY rarely have problems with acid reflux, and not at all that I can remember for the past two years or so (I've had FBO problems for about four months).
I tried the baking soda test today, wherein you dissolve about a teaspoon of baking soda in a little bit of water and drink it; if it makes you burp within 2-3 minutes, your stomach acid is supposedly fine, otherwise, you have low stomach acid. This test was suggested by multiple users here, and I found more information on the internet about it. The test did not make me burp for at least 10 minutes, suggesting that my stomach acid is indeed low.
I've also noticed, and I'm going to start paying attention to this to see if the pattern continues, that my odor occurs within 10-15 minutes of finishing a meal, but not before that; ie, only while I'm digesting food. I'm going to see how long it takes it to go away (even if I have to go without supper tonight, lol), and if any foods in particular trigger it.
