I read that long article yesterday and was seriously DEPRESSED over it thinking AGAIN that I must have candida overgrowth and that going on that restrictive diet for months on end was the ONLY solution. The thought of eating that way AGAIN just depressed me to the max. Yet, after eight years of trying to "get healthy", I am STILL 100 overweight and getting older by the day!
At least your posts helped clear the air in my head and I feel less depressed about things cause I don't have to do that severe dietary restriction AGAIN. If nothing else I'll be the healthiest FAT person around!
There are a number of things that cause weight gain, so what works best will depend on the cause. The first thing to check is basal body temperature to see what the thyroid is doing. Chromium polynicotinate (not picolinate) works really well for helping to increase insulin sensitivity. Bitters help with detoxification and hormones. Coleus forskohlii is a safe thermogenic. It works better combined with nettle leaf or watercress. Alfalfa, nettle leaf and seaweeds are all great for glandular support including the hypothalamus, pituitary, adrenals and thyroid. More water to help with detoxification and this has less calories than kefir. Fibers, especially rice bran, for detoxification and to feed the flora. Exercise, etc.
