That would also be something you should strongly consider doing as well.
I certainly feel empathy for you with regard to trying to sort out your past. I have gone through tons of healing since I became a Christian 17 years ago. I was raised in poverty with 2 alcoholics (my mother was bi-polar on top of that, and pretty crazy). I hope and pray that you can sort it all out and that you can stay off of alcohol for good. Just know what your "triggers" are and make a plan to counterract them; call a friend, say a prayer, do some writing...writing is so cathartic and helpful. A lot of times, after you write what is REALLY going on, you no longer feel the need to numb the pain or run from it.
