This crazy clay!

I've bought Bentonite clay in powder form for the simple reason I could get everything I needed from my usual supplier. Thought it would be no problem to use. HA!

I'm having a nightmare(BOO) hydrating this stuff. It appears to take about 12,000 years. Is this right?? Is it some kinda joke the clay's having on me - one year to hydrate for every year it's been around? I jest of course.

The clay just sits there in the pot doing next to nothing for days. I've tried poking it to get water to the bottom. Any tried and tested tips, guys?
