How hard is a 30 day water fast.
I'm posting this because I see people on here everyday saying that they are going on a 30 day
Water Fast maybe more, but I think very few understand how hard it really is. In the books and stuff they say that there will be a 3-4 day detox stage then after you reach this you'll reach a fasting high. This (day 22)is my 5th long
Water Fast and I find that to be the opposite with me. I have about 10 days where I am running circles around people then I slow down a bit and gradually get slower. By day 30 I am pooped and a walk to the mail box seems like a marathon. Writing an essay question during a test takes the whole hour because you have to stop and let your hand rest because you don't have the energy to keep the pencil moving. Cravings on the other hand never go away. I've spent all day today looking up recipes for foods that I can break my fast with. I guess you can say that hunger goes but cravings however do not. Emotions also get in the way. I suffer from GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) If I don't take my meds I'm usually bent over and cant eat because my stomach is in knots. It goes away then the smallest thing in my life sets it off again. When I fast I don't take my meds and that goes away almost 100 percent. But my emotions can be very unstable. I watch the news and I want to cry if I see a tragedy. I think of things in the past and I want to cry weather because I am happy about it or sad about it. Another weird thing when I'm fasting I can't stand to watch horror movies. It's just too much on me. I go from one extreme to the other. In all I find fasting to one of the most difficult things I have done. With the cravings, the weakness, the emotions. My advice is don't set yourself up for failure. Fasting is very hard and it seems like it goes on forever. If you do want to experiment try a juice fast or a master cleanse for 30 days. To me physically and mentally they are very similar to a water fast, but a
Water Fast is a lot more intense. I'm not saying don't water fast just know your reasons before you do so. And don't just jump into a 30 day water fast. I'm sure there are people out there that have done it. I'm not one of them I had to work up to it. I did lots of short water fast and a few juice fast before I attempted a 30 day water fast. Now days I feel I could do a 40-50 day fast if I wanted to but I would rather not after 30 days my system is purged my goal is met and I'm done. So in all what I'm trying to say is if you want to fast be prepared, it's not easy.
