Re: Probiotics protocol question
I watch Jordan Rueben (CEO of Garden of Life, makers of Primal Defense) on Your Health with Doug Kauffman (Family Net, some independent stations carry it too, and you can find it on Sky Angel as well). Doug used to recommend Natren all the time and then switched to recommending Primal Defense most all the time. On his message board there was a little controvery concerning the soil based organism actually containing something that would hook itself into your intestines and then was virtually impossible to get rid of. Now this info came from a Natren person supposedly. Could it be jealousy? If you want to check the post out you can find it at
http://www.iknowthecause.com go to the general discussions board and you will find it a little ways back. I priced Natren once and found it to be far more expensive than PD by the way.
Anyway, for me, I couldn't afford that much every month for PD or Natren on top of other supplements I was getting for myself and my family, so I have stuck with my UAS LABS DDS-Plus Acidodphilus which is around $18 a bottle and lasts about a month and a half when I take two a day. I find that it works just fine for me.
Oh and about the yogurt, when I had a yeast infection that wouldn't go away, I used plain yogurt and raisin bran for breakfast every day as a part of my regimend to get rid of it and it definitely helped, because when I quit eating it for a few days I started getting symptoms back. I believe this had something to do with the fiber and getting things to move out, but I also think that the yogurt provides the terrain of the bowel something as well.
Best wishes on your probiotic decision.
