common symptoms

The tenderness/pressure can be another sign of the gland going haywire, as well as possible thyroid invovement. The endocrine system is interconnected so other things may be happening in tandem.
Yes, the adrenals can and should be tested, parathyroid, thyroid and autoimmune panels all need to be done.
The joint and muscle signs are a prime indicator - the increased calcium affects joint and muscle tissue, causing weakness and inflamation. The muscle fibers get overstimulated with the extra calcium. It doesn't take much of a serum calcium increase to start symptoms. Often the symptoms creep up slowly but keep hanging on.
Are you having any indigestion signs? Things like heartburn and acid reflux are often increased, again due to the increased calcium causing increased stomach acid production.
Because the serum calcium is increased, the body takes it from the bones to keep the serum level increased so a bone scan is indicated to check for bone loss.
I can't stress enough that you need to see an endocrinology physician to get fully evaluated.
