I used a slight variation of this method to cure it. I got it from my drooling at night. I was 80% cured within 3 days and totally cured by the 5th day. It had been nagging me for almost 3 weeks prior to that. I would spray apple cider vinegar on the cuts and rub it in there, instead of using the dishwashing liquid. I would take it off with bar soap after 2 hours. The 3rd 4th and 5th day I would spray it with the vinegar, put on the pertroleum jelly and leave it on all night. I would even reapply it in the day once the cuts were almost healed. The main thing is just keeping it dry, doesn't really matter what you disinfect it with.
