Re: God Doesn't Exist

"Whether you believe in god or not, is entirely subjective to the individual, so the point is moot. This would be another pointless debate that goes nowhere."

On the contrary, its not a question of believing or not. The originator of the thread says he is a devout Atheist. An atheist is one who believes there is no god. Hence it is a question between two systems of beliefs.

To believe or believe not, it is not based on information gathered from one's own interior - from one's own subjectivity, but is based on information that is gathered, or imposed, from without.

The theist and the atheist are on the same coin. The theist believes there is god, the atheist believes there is no god. Both are caught up in belief. Belief is borrowed from others, from books, holy or unholy. And belief is a kind of walled fortress that prevents one from directly experiencing the truth of whether there is a god or not.

An agnostic is one is being more honest. One who simply does not know whether there is a god or not. This is being more sincere, more truthful, with oneself.

The point is that there is nowhere to go. The word "nowhere" is made up of two words - now & here. The door out of this 'believing and believing not' duality is right under your nose but you are seemingly unaware of it.
