Not offended at all, the name only sounds masculine because of the culture we live in. I don't like to buy into the whole masculine/feminine cultural construct, so spudlydoo will do just fine. " A rose by any name would smell as sweet".

Silica is a mineral, and diatoms, are algae (fresh or salt water) that are encased in a cell wall made of silica.
These fossilised cell walls are what makes up the bulk of DE. This is why it has such a high silica content.

The sharp edges of these fossilised cell walls are what chops up any parasites, but the bowel is protected by a mucoid coating, so the diatoms do not irritate or hurt the bowel.

lol jfh, I'm usually not one for inspecting BM's to closely either, but it was a quite noticable change. All is back to normal now though. With animals as well as humans BMs can be an indicator of overall health, so its worth taking notice if there are any dramatic changes.
