Frontal Hairloss Advice please!

Ok so I'm using Regaine/Rogaine at the moment, which is supposed to help the crown only, what's my best bet for growing some hairs in the frontal area? Any product that has worked on many men for that area? Has Propecia worked for most men? Would I have a chance do you think? I've really tried to avoid it but every I go everyone tells me it's my best chance of stopping and maybe regaining some of that hair on my crown... If so, does anyone know any good sites with good prices? The cheapest I found it for was 28 tablets for £45, which is quiet a lot. Are there different types of Propecia also? Or is it just that one product? Thanks for any help. Oh and what the hell is Proscar? is it same as Propecia, more risky? Better? I'm kind of confused.

I still have littles hairs on my front and back (very weak) so i'm not 100% bald yet, so keeping those and regrowing some is my objective.

One more question, I spray regaine on the middle-top of my head, would that affect anything there or it doesn't work in the middle and just the back? What if some came on my frontal, would it do anything bad? So i can be more careful.
