The instructions with my BP monitor, actually tells you not to drink coffee, at least not for an hour before taking a reading. In fact they say don't eat or drink anything and relax for 15 minutes before taking it. They advise to take same time of day.

My eldery parents are obsessed with taking their bp. They take it all the time, and record it in a little book. I get a bit cross with them, and tell them not to take it so often, as it only worries them if it is high. Tweet
