I'm as surprised as you are.
But clearly his greatness overpowers his shortcomings, as evidenced in the responses to his death.

I have no doubt that he was out of line with the little boys.
If he was innocent, that trial wouldn't have bothered him.
It was probably the single thing that ultimately did him in.
