Re: And for something a little different...
There's the rub.
Privately both aunt and uncle separately are wont to let fly with words like 'lazy', 'unmotivated', 'lazy'... I said that already. Then in mixed company, the excuses take over. Makes for real uncomfy exchanges. I steer dialogues towards the 10,000' pole thing. NO WAY do I get in the middle of family opinions.
Is just a sad and mystifying thing. To see on the exterior an ultra right wing, religious right, with all the trappings and railings against degenerate society, only when the onion gets peeled back, the reality is the opposite.
We had a mayor of a local town, also ultra right religious conservative, run and rule on these tenants for many years. My sis ran a retirement home where the gent ended up. Learned he was a raving alcoholic, was in a spiral down because of it (they gave him what he wanted which was booze to keep him appeased), was a raving womanizer (he talked, and revealed, and chased, a lot), and had transferred his wealth away and was living out his days on Medicaid.
The world is a funny place.
I just had to rant a little. Done.
