Re: The Pill Vs Natural treatment for PCOS
Try it, you will be suprised!!
I am 22 years old, 5'9" and 150
lbs. I have PCOS, with symptomes of hirsutism (abnormal hair growth), acne, etc. and am well aware that the symptoms increase with time if you do not treat your body.I have tried both medication and natural forms to get results, and found that PCOS cannot be treated solely through diet and exercise. I started by going onto the Pill, specifically Diane 35, and then went off of them because I wanted to use natural means and see if I could get better results. I worked with a nutritional counselor, and regimented my diet for an 8 week period where I ate only unrefined carbohydrates, and a high vegetable, higher protein diet. I cut out
Sugar and fat, and maintained a steady exercise plan, all under the direction of my nutritional councelor. I am saying all of this because though I lost 15 lbs within the first month, my symptoms did not lessen as they had on the pill. I highly recommend maintaining a
healthy Diet (not necessarily as regimented as the one i was on, any maneagable form is fine) and maintaining an excercise plan, as it helps PCOS, especially since those with PCOS are suseptible to health risks such as diabeties and heart conditions, but I also think that medical suppliments are necessary.
