Having just read all this above I have a thought which someone here may be able to follow up:
This sort of experiment was conducted on a much larger scale that the "keys" trial. During the second world war many allied soldiers were held in often very food deprived circumstances. I have got to know some of those individuals well and have often talked about their experiences.
AS a group of individuals and friends they have been a wonderful group to know. Sadly many have died.
Despite my enquiries I have not been able to find any studies of the health implications of their treatment although in Australia we do have a fine study of the social consequences of the POW life.
Does anyone know if a study of the nutritional and health of their incarceration has been done anywhere?
