Frontline can make a dog darn sick just like you describe. It goes by weight, and even then it can make dogs real sick. One of my neighbors breeds poodles. It almost killed the little male. Why not try something natural for flea control? I use citronella oil from a good company that makes essential oils. Don't have the name of it handy right now.
