Yeah, everyone here has visited their doctor or numerous doctors and all have been told "I can't smell anything" and made to think it's all in your head.

I think it's because doctors physically examine so many different people every day they just lose their sense of smell completely, either that or beyond telling someone to go and take a shower they can do nothing for you so they just tell you they can't smell anything.
