Re: This is probably not what you want to hear
Maverick, thank you for your detailed response and sharing your experience with me. Sorry to just now be getting back to you, it was a busy weekend.
I can relate to what you are talking about with breaking the fast badly even with the best intentions in mind. I did a 10 day master cleanse last year and when I went off of it, I went right into eating junk food telling myself that I would start eating healthier tommorrow...yeah right! That didn't exactly happen! My metabolism had slowed way down and I was eating way to much and like I said in my first post, I gained alot of weight over the following months.
Thr frustrating thing is that before the MC, I had been a fairly healthy eater and just couldn't get back on track. I have successfully stuck to the candida diet a couple of times in the past with a lot of success and am confident that I can and will do it again.
I did go right back onto my fast after my first post a couple of days ago. I am on day 19 right now and originally posted on day 16. It has been 3 1/2 days back on just water. I have been surprised that these past 3 days were as bad as the first 3 days. I am really kicking myself because I had been feeling great, other than the cravings, and now for the past 3 days I have been tired and irritable with horrible headaches. I am hoping that it clears up by tommorrow. Also, I decided to buy some keto stix to see how long it takes for my body to go back into ketosis. I tested again this morning and there were still only trace amounts of ketones. I thought that it only takes 2-3 days to go into ketosis and start showing the dark purple on the keto stix. Any thoughts on this?
Anyways, thanks again for the info and insight that you provided. It was definitely a reminder of how difficult it will be for me to break my fast properly. My husband and I juice alot so I am planning on breaking with at least a week long juice fast then start adding in raw fruits and veggies.
