Re: Words about depression and iodine supplementation.

Oy! Could I go into liver maintenance or what...

Yes'um. We have acquired over the years gobs and mega gobs of as you say, restorative things for the liver. And kidneys. And sundry other things. Her immunosupressants are nephrotoxic, so at the same time they are supporting the graft, they open it up to attack too. And other organs.

One of the true juggling acts is one med in particular suppresses a sliver of her immune system. So we can't willy nilly do things that say, boost her immune system. It would counter the response to the med. A true Catch-22. I have had to study alternative as well as conventional medical protocols until the cow's cousin's nephews come home, before introducing stuff.

Ya, we have devised and are constantly revising the protocols. Milk thistle, check. Omega 3s, check check. And a few other things specific to the maintenance of the graft.

We've been trying to figure out hair loss for her as well. Her hair is in a perpetual telegenic state, or shock to the system, with her meds, which we work to reduce or eliminate. We are in constant motion and analysis.

Anywayz, pluuuze keep posting your ruminations. I read everything here with the obsession of a Nascar junkie.
