As I pointed out chlorine dioxide is the EXACT same thing used to chlorinate municipal water systems. I believe that one of the reasons that hypothyroidism is on the rise is due to the chlorination and fluoridation of the municipal water systems. Chlorine, fluorine, and bromine are all halogens like iodine. More reactive halogens, like chlorine, will displace a less reactive halogen, like iodine. This was taught to us back in high school chemistry. Here is a link for you explaining this principle:

Chlorinated products like this have been around for a long time. All of them that I have seen have gone by the wayside. For example I have not seen Vital Ion or Eu d' Vie in about 10 years or so. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that people are catching on to the possible adverse effects. Do you realize that some of the most poisonous compounds on earth are chlorinated compounds? For example phosgene and nerve agents.
