Re: What are foods that reduce fecal odor?
The doc gave me some prescription probiotics, and it's cut down a whole lot on the evil smells. I don't get quite the same negative reactions from people that I once got.
All my drinking and times on
Antibiotics might've done in the good bacteria in my colon. Probiotics medication (supposedly the probiotics in live yogurt get mauled on their way to the colon) along with prebiotic food to feed the good bacteria might be worth a try. Prebiotic foods include live yogurt, bananas, onions, and garlic.
The other that may help is getting more fiber, but stay away from gas producing fibers such as beans, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, and other dark greens of the brassica family.
There's a fiber supplement called Citrucel that doesn't cause flatulence (or some other methylcellulose based fiber).
Fiber moves food more quickly along and gives less time for bacterias to break down the food causing flatulence.
Dunno if that'll help anyone here, but heck, worth a try if you haven't already. The probiotics did well for me.
