Breaking fast with slippery elm

Slippery elm gruel is one of, if not the most soothing thing for the digestive system. I've heard that sometimes even when people are so sick that they throw up water, slippery elm still stays down.

Not only is it soothing, but when it's in its mucousy form[gruel] it's good for healing the gut lining. Because of this, would it be a good idea to break my fast with this for a day or two. I know most people on here usually break it with fruit or juice, but hopefully someone knows about people doing this.
