I don't think there's any place in the US dryer than Colorado. Between altitude and the dry plains - I think we use more lotion than any other place!
For me, topical lotions/cremes/oils are only band-aids. I need to suppliment heavily with good oils, INTERNALLY - such as flax oil. When I take 2-3T a day in food, after a month the cracks and dry seem to vanish. As long as I also remember to not use any soaps that are not natural (difficult when you use public places)or even organic. I also keep well hydrated with water. Not sodas, not juices, not trendy drinks, water.
Good luck - but remember - it's a body BALANCE issue, after all, the skin is the largest organ in the body.
