Re: What's the score with supporting people unconditionally on a water fast?
Mouseclick, I will give you my take on things, in a very general sort of way. First off, I will say that just about every longtime poster here on curezone is to be congratulated - they have seen through the myth of the establishment partyline when it comes to health and they are taking things in their own hands, so to speak. And regardless of our many differences, whether it be politics, race, gender, nationality, or even our view on health protocols, there is a common bond.
In terms of my view on
Water Fasting - it is not to be taken lightly. I won't give you a long, drawn out history - but I did one last year that started to cause major, major problems - and it had nothing to do with the lack of calories. I will spare you the details - I did post about it last year on the
Water Fast forum - but suffice it to say - my individual health circumstance/problems, for whatever reason , were not conducive to water fasting. And I am not a newbie who just stumbled upon alternative medicine. One of my biggest issues in the past with the
Water Fast forum - and I put up posts in the past making this clear - is that all too often a newbie will appear who is looking to do a water fast... And the advice is always - 'Good Luck, keep us updated'. Even though they are extremely toxic, with no alternative health experience under their belt, and in many cases burdened down with a whole host of "other" issues that have caused them to reach the state they are in. And people need to be careful when giving advice to these types of posters - in a lot of cases they are the extreme in terms of unhealthy lifestyles.
To me, one of the drawbacks to the
Water Fasting forum is the notion that it is a "magic bullet" that will cure all problems. And I see this posted all the time there... That it is the natural way that the body "heals" all problems. And to me this is a trap. Just as there is no single magical pill that will "cure" someone... Or 'alternative health' protocol...There is too much variation in life to think that the "one size fits all" is relevant to all people. And I am the perfect example of this.
So, in closing, it is good that you care - and that
Water Fasting has made such a dramatic impact on your life. I have used applied kinesiology/homeopathics to see similar results in myself, although my problems and circumstance were different. Just keep an open mind. The first thing my kinesiologist said to me during my first visit (when I was seeking relief from bad mold allergies), was that there was a 95% chance he could help me, but that for some reason 5% of people don't respond to his treatments. And he was right. Although luckily I wasn't among those 5%, although in the case of water fasting I was.
