That was a great help, just curious as to whether you are able to point me in the right direction as to a good place to get a 2 micron stainless diffuser online.

What type of glass are you using? As Johny Apple Bomb states, the taller the better, hence my use of a pilsner glass. What would be even better though is something that's almost in the fashion of a test tube that holds at least 200mls of water to saturate it completely, maybe then a diffuser may not be so important.
