Re: For anyone interested... (soytainly NOT!) Re: More Oy on Soy
>>>And to say we don't need to eat soy is the same as saying that we do not need to eat wheat, meat, dairy, broccoli, apples, etc.<<<
lol, u r silly :o)
Throughout the centuries in agriculture soybeans were used to fix nitrogen in the soil...the beans were fed to animals or turned under. Only after the Chinese learned to ferment soy was it ever eaten by humans. It wasn't until the early 1900's that soy was even introduced as food in the US (and that was soymilk, patented by an oriental and then picked up on by the profiteers). I come from a long line of farmers in the midwest; I remember asking grandma why she never made a pot of soybean - she laughed and said, "they're not really even good for the cows". Eating soybeans was never considered until they were marketed & propagandized. Comparing soybeans to apples, dairy & broccoli really is just plain silly.
It seems like you must not be old enough to remember when soy was not considered something to eat (or else you just have your ego wrapped around soy, or perhaps you didn't read/believe the article/link I posted). whatever - 'tis certainly not for me to judge.
>>> I have eaten soy since I was an infant and I am healthier than the majority of the people I know and have met. Especially those on raw food or vegetarian diets.<<<
LOL, now THERE's some rational logic. Sheesh, I know people that have smoked for 50 years that are healthier than "whatever group"...and when I was eating processed foods, smoking, drinking a case of Diet Pepsi a day and taking Prozac & Trazodone, I was healthier than virtually anyone I met.
Health is a great thing to have - no matter what you choose to eat, I hope you keep yours :)
