Re: Reduce your exposure to pesticides in your produce

I am sure that helps, just like the washing also helps.  The problem I see is that pesticides are not located ONLY on the surfaces of plants, but may have penetrated inside and also may have been brought up through the roots sytemically.  One notes that a main reason behind GMO crops is to make them pesticide and herbicide friendly so that they can withstand and absorb herbicides and in some instances even incorporate their own pesticides.

Organics are a better choice, though not the best choice - which is to grow your own from non GMO heirloom type seeds.  In most states land only has to have not been exposed to herbicides and pesticides and such for a mere three years in order to qualify as organic.  Nevermind that some pesticides have half-lives of 50 years or more and nevermind if there is runoff or spray drift from adjacent land.

Which is certainly not so say that it is not a good idea buy organics over regular produce or to wash and/or ozonate regardless of the source.  It is definitely a good idea to remove as much of the toxins as possible.  Just a better idea to avoid them in the first place to the greatest extent possible.
