HELP! Scalp Irritation-Possibly Demodex Follicularum

I have had issues with my scalp for several years now. I get red, itchy, sometimes painful bumps on my scalp which flare up during my mentrual cycle. I have also found these bumps on my face around my hairline and also under my chin and on my neck. At night the itching gets really bad and feels "crawly" on my scalp. I have tried many cremes, shampoos and medicines to no avail. I am currently using Clobetasol Propionate Foam which has helped cut down on the inflamation of the sores a bit. My dr. has said she thought it was eczema but I know it is more than that. She refuses to send me to a dermatologist and I cannot afford to go to one myself without a referral (I have horrible HMO insurance!). Anyway, from what I have read about Demodex it is more of a mite that affects the face. However the skin on my face is not bad, it's actually pretty clear with the exception of one our two red spots. Could it still possibly be demodex?? Any thoughts, suggestions. Please help here.. I am starting to loose my hair due to this and I really need to figure out what is going on once and for all! I also don't want this to affect my husband and kids (my husband has had some itching but not as severe as mine--my kids have not had any). Thanks!
