Re: Oh dear!

Really?

There is no controlling drinking for alcoholics or addicts

It appears one can control whatever the substance (even food)it is that is your escape from ________________________________ and ______________________ and ______________

fill in the blanks (what you desire to escape from)

Self Pity and a high IQ- most addicts are very smart - what a dangerous combinations

Why,

Because Persons who have achieved success with their analytical skills and are inflexible but know inside they are a fraud; one knows who they really are (which no one else sees or can feel in this about the addict)

This bright mind will say "I can control this - I'll just have 2 and then quit-

This may work for many months but after one shi@@y day at work or argument with your wife or____________________ (fill in the blank) then it will be until you are drunk and all bets are off....Yes you may go back to 2, but the incident of 4-5 will raise its head again.

And within 1 month-1 year you will be practicing your addiction just as you left it when you first got clean

White knuckle dry drunks are not drinking but are not healing either, nasty acts

Addiction requires a higher power (not a higher ego power) humbleness, and a real moment of clarity:

"I am going to die, if .......I continue" And one knows you will if you do not allow your self to heal

It is at several levels (peeling the onion) that one actually begins to heal the real problem
