Couldn't have said it better.

I always use the analogy of opportunistic infections.

You can reverse whatever condition created the opportunity for pathogen to infect and divide, but once you have the infection you should also try to attack the organism as well before it reaches a point of no return.

If I get a strep infection because I am run down. I can reverse the environmental factors but how does this kill the rapidly dividing streptococcus bacterium that still infects my body? Preventatives are a little late once active disease gets a foot hold.

I don't think it would be wise to sit back and see if the disease responds to balancing, detox, and diet. When you find out that the disease still wants to win,...how much further behind at this point will you be, how much later are you now in seeking additional weapons in this very precarious war?

Take nothing for granted. Don't procrastinate, the worst thing anyone can do is nothing.
