I've read a lot on this but didn't keep my references. But what I learned is that the baby gets it's initial flora from the mother during delivery. Makes sense to me. And then the bifidus factor in the mothers milk promotes the growth of the bifidus. How it knows to do this Idon't know. Evoluation I guess ?
