My dog itched and scratched like crazy the first time I gave her humaworm for pets. That was over a year ago. The first treatment I gave her this summer made her itch badly again. I didn't put it together with the humaworm that time -- I thought it was something the groomer used on her that caused her to itch. Well, later in the summer I started giving her colloidal silver in her water each day, and the itching started again. CS kills parasites. She has been itching and scratching for about 2 months now. After a few weeks of the CS, I quit giving it to her and gave her the little bit of humaworm I had left -- maybe enough for 2-1/2 or 3 days. She still continues to itch. I received my new humaworm shipment and gave her 5 day treatment to her this past weekend. Of course, she's itching terribly. Do you think it is from detox/parasites dying, or is it an allergy? She lives inside, but there are a ton of neighborhood cats and they are not shy about coming into my yard (when Haley isn't out there barking at them to chase them away -- there's even one that isn't afraid of her and gets near her to antagonize her -- she is afraid of cats when they come near and aren't intimidated by her). I am assuming that since there are a lot of neighborhood cats who run loose, the owners probably aren't really worried about worming them and treating them for parasites.
Could Haley just constantly be getting the parasites from the cats? I didn't realize you could give humaworm to animals every month. From reading this thread, I am assuming that it is okay to do that. If so, I will start doing that. Maybe that will keep them from getting so bad that she itches so terribly when I do give it to her. I just feel so badly for her.
The itching has to be awful for her. I wish I could figure a way to make it stop. Has anybody who's dog/cat had this itching problem come up with a solution? Did it eventually stop after giving multiple treatments of the humaworm monthly?
