2 more ways to easily remove lids: 1) Break the seal, at the top, by runnng the lid under hot water, for several seconds, which causes uneven expansion. Then use rubber gloves. 2) Invert it over a firm, flat surface, such as wood (not marble, or granite). Firmly rap it flat against the surface, and a small hydrostatic shock wave will break the seal.
