Re: Microevolution and Intelligent Design

Hi Supersport,

I am a believer in microevolution. Look at the birds of the Galapagos Islands and certain genera of molluscs in the ocean. I cannot pinpoint the mechanisms involved in creating a new species. I don't believe random mutations are responsible. I believe changes intoduced into an ecosystem may encourage a species to change. I find it hard to believe that organisms can evolve new organs or new complex structures. Did you see Ben Stein's movie "Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed"? One of the scientists in that film told us that Science isn't even sure what a species is.

I am believer in I.D. - Intelligent Design. I have seen various critics on the net tell us that this is a stealth form of creation. To me, I.D. means that I don't have to fit the historical fossil record into the Biblical account of creation. I don't insist on a young Earth. Genesis 1:1 says the Earth was void. What was it void of according to the Hebrew language?

On a side note, I think it is interesting to look at the Cambrian explosion of phylum relative to my beliefs on microevolution.
