Avoiding loose of muscle weight - dharrison

Hi,

I write this post as a suggestion to the subject dharrison brought up in his post from earlier today:

* Loosing weight and particularly muscle weight during the fast *

Until day 33 or 34 of my fast, I kept working out on regular basis (daily), including pull-ups, swimming, flexibility, some yoga and so on.

Due to weakness on day 33-34, I stopped working out.

From nearly day 36 I started to lose significant muscle weight. Yet I didn't loose it as long as I worked out.

I remember that in a previous fast, I lost so much muscle weight within 10 days, and it took me a while to rebuild. That's why I tried to workout during the current fast. It worked!

My conclusion:
Consider working out while fasting, and your muscle weight may remain.

Yet, be attentive to your body's needs. Reduce your regular workouts a bit, if needed. After day 30, I was forced to reduce my workouts. After 33-34 days, I decided to stop due to weakness. By the way, I got my normal energy back after at around day 36, but chose to not come back to active lifestyle and remained slow-paste.

My weight lose:
During the entire fast, I barely lost weight at all. I lost 11 pounds within the first 10 days and as long as I worked out, my weight remained the same. I'm not sure of my current weight (day 39) as I haven't weighted myself since. Therefore, at the moment it's hard for me to -determine- whether it is working out that kept my weight intact. Yet, due to my previous experiences, I feel safe to presume so.

Good luck fasting and working out,
Haggai
