Re: Life experiences with a JPouch of 6-years

I have lived with a JPouch for 22 years. It is all trial and error. I was given no information regarding what to eat. I had to learn it all on my own. I found your message very informative. Thank you. I was 16 when I had the surgery. At 7 I was diagnosed with ulcertive proctitis. And as I remember had minor symtoms up until I was around 14-15. By the time I was a few weeks shy of my 16th b-day I was in and out of the hospitol and finally I was taken to University Hospitol in Seattle. I was given a 5% chance of living. I was really sick. I lost 32 pints of blood and I had lost about 40 pounds in two weeks. Thank you for letting me tell my story....
