Re: TMAU Hopefully Getting Better
Hello I am new here. But I just fount out about this disorder today by researching on the internet but I really think I have this. This may get lengthy but I would like some advice. Here is my history:
My first grade teacher wrote my mother a note one day because she had been noticing a very strong
Body Odor for a long time but didn't know who it was. Well it turned out it was me. She told my mother that I needed to start wearing deodorant. My family has teased me about my strong
Body Odor because I am the only one who seems to have the problem in the family. I would scrub really hard in the shower but it never seemed to help. I have gone through many diet phases in my life some healthy some not so much but one thing that seems to be a constant is the
Body Odor . I am not over weight at all. I used to be a fitness instructor. I still watch what I eat and exercise when I can. I do often than not suffer from constipation. I went to a doctor who told me I had a potassium deficiency after taking the potassium pills my digestion has been smoother. But I still have body odor. The odor is not as strong in my scalp or feet. It is most strong in the peubic and armpit area. I wouldn't say it's a fishy smell but it is very strong nonetheless. I have tried certain dri and it has not really helped that much. Today I bought activated charcoal, b-100, zinc, Magnesium and chlorophyll in hopes that they will help. I know there are things I am supposed to avoid eating (if I have this disorder...which I hope I don't!)I'm not sure of what those things are. This is what I eat on a day to day basis: Oatmeal w/ skim milk and honey, kashi cereal w/ soy milk, whole wheat bread peanut butter and jelly, brown rice, tuna fish, frozen mixed vegetables, fruits, romaine lettuce, onions, green peppers, whole wheat pasta and spaghetti sauce...can't think of any thing else. Can some one tell me if I should avoid eating some things and what I can eat instead. Also has any one had any luck with weakening the smell? Or completely masking it?
